"Darren is just a top guy and he has the full support of the squad," he said.
"He is very positive and he gets that across in his coaching and I am sure if you as every player here whether they enjoy his training sessions and whether they feel they have improved each time, I am sure the answer would be yes.
"Everything he does is geared to improving us as players and individuals. We are definitely optimistic about the future, with this appointment and the ground development having started."
While a top-four finish may be out of the question for the Newport based side, there is still plenty to play for in the final three games as the Dragons look to finish on a high and build momentum ahead of next season.
This weekend they host the Magners League Champions the Ospreys in a Welsh derby at Rodney Parade.
