Young hopes Play-Offs will delay Baa Baas role

Young is set to coach the Baa Baas but the famous invitational side kick-off their summer tour at Twickenham on the same day as the Magners League Grand Final.

Young remains hopeful his Blues side can reach the showpiece final and insists his priority lies with the Welsh region.

The Blues are currently fifth in the league table, four points off the all-important play-off places but with four games left to play. One of those is also a crucial game in hand over all the teams above them.

"I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that I miss the first game," Young told the BBC.

"The Barbarians have got England the first game and if we get to the final of the play-offs obviously I can't do that first game."

The Baa Baas then face Wales at the Millennium Stadium on June 4 to celebrate the Welsh Rugby Union's 130th anniversary.

"It would be nice to step in to do the Wales game. It's a thoroughly enjoyable experience, mixing with players you don't normally coach," added Young. "The Barbarians have got a huge tradition.

"We don't have the same intensity and training and same focus as Wales would have. But it's still an enjoyable experience for myself."
