Nigel Davies' squad came within a whisker of reaching the Magners League Play-Offs as they recovered from a disappointing 2009/10 campaign to play some scintillating rugby both at home and in Europe.
And while the Scarlets' turnaround in fortunes was impressive enough, Morgan's own rise to prominence has been even more remarkable.
Morgan made just two appearances for the region while playing for the Llanelli club side last term but, following an injury to former Australia star David Lyons, has now become a mainstay in the Scarlets' pack.
The Dursley product made 24 appearances for the Scarlets in all competitions in 2010/11 and capped a fine campaign with tries in his final two games.
Morgan never expected to have so many opportunities this season but the 22-year-old, who was plucked from Merthyr RFC in Welsh Division One East in 2008, believes he has benefited from having a run of consecutive matches.
"It's always been my dream to play rugby as a living. I left school to do a plumbing apprenticeship and sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming," said Morgan.
"I've been very fortunate this year because David (Lyons) got injured. That's the reason I got my place in the team.
"I've learnt so much from him, but my aims for the season were merely to get four or five games off the bench and keep on building from there.
"I'm a confidence player and my game has developed over the course of the season. But there's still so much I have to learn and I'll be looking to get better and better next season."
Morgan's fine form has seen him linked with an international call up for both England and Wales but he is in no rush to pledge his national allegiance.
English-born Morgan, who qualifies for Wales under residency grounds next February, was linked with a call-up to the England Saxons squad for next month's Churchill Cup but it is understood that he will delay his decision on his international future until next year.
"It's very flattering to be linked with Wales, but it's something I can't afford to think about at this stage of my career. I just have to focus on playing for the Scarlets," Morgan, who featured in 15 Magners League matches this season, told The Rugby Paper.
"With regards to talk of being called up by England that's something I have no control over.
"I would be very lucky to be in the position of having to choose between England and Wales and I'll obviously have to give it a lot of hard thought. But at this stage it's completely hypothetical.
"I have my family backing me either way but ultimately it's my decision - or as it stands there's no decision to be made at the moment.
"I can't give it too much thought until I'm put on the spot. At the moment all I have to worry about is doing my best for the Scarlets and that's what I'm totally focussed on."
