The 24-year-old, who has been named as the Gunners vice-captain to scrum-half Greig Laidlaw, underwent knee surgery earlier in the summer and believes he will be back to his best for the new campaign.
Michael Bradley's men have been preparing for the new season for more than 12 weeks in a bid to improve their below-par eighth place finish.
And Grant, who could end up leading his club for the start of the season if Laidlaw makes Andy Robinson's Scotland squad for the World Cup, is convinced they are ready to go.
They begin their season at home to Cardiff Blues on September 2 and Grant said: "We can't wait to get into some game time - after a long pre-season everyone is raring to go and throw a ball about or get some tackles in.
"It's been a long one but a really enjoyable pre-season and we've been able to get some good solid blocks of training in and we're a lot closer to where we want to be.
"I feel really good after having a knee operation at the end of last season - having it then allowed me not to rush back and I'm feeling better than ever.
"And it would be a huge honour to lead the team again as it always is. Hopefully for Greig he goes to the World Cup and I enjoy the captaincy as I believe it helps my game."
