And while Lineen was careful not to read too much into the result, he was still satisfied with how the likes of former Connacht centre Troy Nathan adapted to their first action in a Warriors shirt.
"This was just pre-season and just the first game and it will mean little at the end of the season, but the boys have worked very hard and I was pleased to see them get their rewards with two good tries and a deserved win," Lineen told the Scotsman.
"I thought that our new boys did well. Tommy Seymour took his try well, Troy Nathan was solid in the midfield, Gordon Reid played well for his first start for Glasgow, Rory Pitman is looking good and Scott Wight had some good kicks and showed some nice touches.
"That is all pleasing, and I was delighted with Henry Pyrgos who is really developing as a quality scrum-half. We are going to be playing a style of game this season that really challenges the scrum-half and he showed he was up to it tonight."
