On Saturday he was at the forefront of the Italian attack, controlling the back-line that pushed Wales all the way in Rome.
His performance was rewarded with the man-of-the-match award, voted by the media and his own coach Nick Mallett, as well as the visitors attack coach Rob Howley were full of praise for Semenzato after the game.
"I thought we was fantastic," said Mallet.
"He controlled the game well, got stuck in and was everywhere, for a young guy in just his second game at this level he really stepped up to the plate."
Howley, a former British and Irish Lions number nine echoed Mallet's comments.
"He had a really good game and was at the heart of the Italy attack as they threw everything at us, he's got a good future ahead of him."
