Jones damaged his left elbow in a Heineken Cup match against London Irish in January and was ruled out for six weeks, but returned to action in the home win over the Warriors on Saturday, 5 March.
Having declared his fitness, and got some game time under his belt, Jones has been recalled to take the place of his injured clubmate Craig Mitchell in the Wales squad. Mitchell, who had deputised so well for British & Irish Lions star Jones on the Welsh tight-head side of the front row, dislocated his right shoulder in the win over Ireland last weekend.
He underwent surgery after the Irish victory and is likely to be out of action for up to four months. That means the Ospreys will have to do without his services over the final five rounds of the regular Magners League campaign and into the Play-Offs if they make it.
"Craig has now had corrective surgery after dislocating his right shoulder. The operation went very well and we would now expect him to be back playing within a 12 - 16 week period," said Wales national performance medical manager Prav Mathema.
Wales coach Warren Gatland has also officially included Scarlets wing George North in his squad for France after he successfully returned to action in the Magners League in recent weeks.
