The British Lions full-back recently penned a new two-year contract with last season's Grand Finalists despite interest from big-spending French clubs.
During his Magners League career Kearney has already made 70 appearances and scored 94 points. He is currently sidelined with a knee injury and has been out of action since October.
But Kearney is looking forward to making his comeback and helping Leinster in their push for the Magners League crown before targetting a place in Ireland's squad for the World Cup.
"Personally and from a medical point of view I just need to get my recovery in and my knee right," said Kearney.
"I'm really happy to have extended my contract for two year's, there was never any doubt in my mind where I was going to play my rugby.
"I'm delighted to be part of such a great club and feel very proud to be here for the next two years.
"Signing a new deal has allowed me to concentrate on returning to full fitness as soon as possible and put myself into contention for selection for Leinster and Ireland.
"I've certainly missed playing over the last number of months but my injury is coming along and hopefully I will be back soon.
"There is nothing like representing both Leinster and Ireland and a big deciding factor was our supporters and the fact I think there is a lot more success to come."
