That fine start seems set to be rewarded with Baber and Burnell being given the responsibility for guiding the Blues through the remainder of the season.
And after three months at the coalface, Baber admits the chance to continue at the helm of the Blues comes as a relief for both men.
"Obviously the pair of us are pleased," Baber told the Western Mail. "We've worked extremely hard to make it work.
"As everybody knew, there was a review carried out and the board have kept faith with the two of us, so we crack on.
"Obviously we have still got a contract to run anyway which is in place.
"But what the board have suggested is that we will stay in these positions as joint head coaches with a review at the end of the season.
"We've been given the indication that nobody else will be coming in.
"You are in an environment where being successful and getting victories is very important.
"And that's sometimes very hard to do when you are trying to strike a balance between bringing players through and developing players and seeing how you keep individuals motivated, fit and healthy in long, tough campaigns."
