A poor first half saw the Blues - missing several first-team stars through international call-ups - edge into a 12-0 lead courtesy of four Dan Parks penalties.
Baber admitted sharing the crowd's frustration at failing to break down a stubborn Italian team but the next 40 minutes were a different story.
Replacement Casey Laulala, Dafydd Hewitt, Tom James and Marc Breeze all touched down for maximum points as well as keeping Aironi to nil on the scoreboard.
And in the final synopsis, Baber was content with extent his side's winning run in the RaboDirect PRO12 to three games.
"We grew into the game. It was frustrating during the first half because we were creating chances," said Baber.
"We didn't have enough patience and were dropping the ball.
"During the second half we got our attack right and started taking those chances to get the bonus.
"We had four 18-year-olds on the field at the end and you could see their desire by how they prevented Aironi from scoring a point."
