In swapping Down Under for the Emerald Isle Chambers goes from one set of champions to the other with Munster looking to retain their title under the new guise of the RaboDirect PRO12.
And the Australian admits he is chomping at the bit to get a taste of his new surroundings.
"I was fortunate enough to go to Edinburgh and meet a few of the boys there before their game," he said.
"Unfortunately they didn't get the result but they were very welcoming to me, made me feel comfortable and now I'm looking forward to getting to know them all a bit better and see how we all go.
"Obviously I'm pretty excited to be over here. It's a very prestigious club and when I was presented with the opportunity to come over I took it with both hands.
"Most footy players dream of playing with a club like Munster, pulling on that red jersey and it's something I'm looking forward to.
"To actually be over here now and getting in and mingling and meeting all the boys is something I'm very excited about."
