"We realised how tough it is to come here these days and we watched Treviso closely.
"The result itself is extremely pleasing but we are happy to have put in a goo performance. We have worked hard it was a great team performance but perhaps the scoreline did not reflect how close the game was."
Treviso defeated the current league leaders Munster at the stadium the week before and still caused plenty of problems for the Welsh region.
"They still managed to break through twice, it will still be very tough for lesser teams to come here," he added.
"Making a good start is something we talked about coming into this game. Needing start well, there's a big crowd there and it was important that we didn't let them into the game in the first 20.
"We managed to score some quick tries but didn't pull away. At half time we felt we needed to hit the ground running in the second and we did that.
"Until the end we kept Treviso at bay. To get the win and secure the bonus-point is extremely pleasing. It's a happy changing room and camp right now, this squad's really gelling.
"We're extremely proud to be Magners League champions and we're determined to defend our title."
