But despite the fact that Biarritz find themselves stranded at the bottom of the Top 14, Goosen is adamant they are still a force to be reckoned with on the European stage.
"Biarritz are a team who challenge in the Heineken Cup every year so we know it will be tough," said Goosen, who was playing for Treviso the last time they faced Biarritz back in 2005.
"Against the French teams you have to challenge them up front if you want to put pressure on them.
"We are not scared of anyone when we go out on to the pitch. We go out thinking we can win every home game and we've shown this season that we can also win away."
Prior to the season start Goosen and head coach Franco Smith set out goals of winning outside Italy and picking up a try bonus point, both of which have already been achieved.
Treviso have now won in Glasgow, Ulster and Connacht, as well as romping home with seven tries at home to the Newport Gwent Dragons in the RaboDirect PRO12.
And Goosen believes their impressive league form is a result of more experience in the multi-national competition.
He added: "We have grown since last season and we are a lot more experienced.
"We have shown more intensity and I think we have proved we can manage a game much better.
"We are used to playing against Irish, Welsh and Scottish teams now, but this weekend against Biarritz will be something different."
