But with their attention now turning to European competition the 25-year-old King insists now is the time to focus on the job in hand.
"This week has gone really well and we feel very well prepared, the boys are feeling good and we are confident heading into the game," he said.
"It was good for the confidence to put a few scores together against Aironi and seeing a few moves from the training ground come together.
"We also managed to come through that game injury free which is another big positive barring the odd knock.
"But we know that this Friday is going to be a huge step-up compared to that game, you can't read too much into last weekend."
December marks a crucial period in the Gunners' season with double headers against both Cardiff and Glasgow on the horizon.
And King knows the importance of starting of this vital month with winning momentum as they look to improve on their position of ninth in the RaboDirect PRO12.
"This is a huge couple of games but we aren't really looking any further than this weekend at the moment," he added.
"If we can come out of these two games on top then that should put us in a really good position moving forward but we can't afford to look too far ahead.
"This is a huge month with two double headers and training is going very well and there's no reason why we can't do ourselves justice and keep the club moving forwards."
