And with a European double header against Aironi next up in the Heineken Cup, 36-year-old Terblanche admits he will have to cope with being thrown in at the deep end at his new side.
"I'm just going to get straight into it," said Terblanche, who won 37 caps for South Africa and has also had a spell with the Ospreys.
"It's a difficult time of year, there are a lot of games on and hopefully I can better the team whether it be from the bench or starting.
"Just through experience I'll do my best, try and slot in as quickly as possible and find my feet within the team and within the region.
"I have been fortunate enough to watch the first (Heineken Cup) game against Clermont and also the one at Leicester that they lost at Welford Road. I must say I was pretty impressed with the way they played, especially the away game against Leicester. It's a difficult place to go and play, having played there myself and I thought they did really well."
