But with lock Charteris seemingly on the move to Perpignan at the end of the season, where he will team up with compatriot James Hook, and winger Aled Brew and No.8 Toby Faletau also reportedly considering a switch to warmer climates, Edwards is worried about the lack of appeal offered in Wales.
He said: "I think everyone is trying to steal our Welsh players at the moment. It's a huge worry and we are all feeling the heat in Wales. I'm disappointed, but Luke is a very honourable guy.
"We are working hard to produce players for the national team and we cannot capitalise on these. We need to get our heads together and solve it. These players employ agents and it is their job to move them to another club.
"All our basic processes went out of the window in the second half against Exeter.
"It was very difficult to talk to the players after. They are good players and we looked like a good team. I don't know what went wrong."
