But despite leading 9-3 at the break, the Warriors had been staring down the barrel of defeat in the second half and relied on Scott Wight's late try to take them out of a losing position.
And while his side failed to make it six of the best, Lineen is adamant spirits are still high ahead of the weekend's clash with Montpellier.
"I thought we would win 9-3 with the wind in the second half, then they got the momentum, so in the end it was great to get the draw," said Lineen.
"We will take the two points and the guys will learn an awful lot from that.
"We needed more composure with the wind, so there was a lesson for the young lads about where we play, and our discipline, because we gave away some silly penalties given that our defence was brilliant.
"They are a great bunch of lads working incredibly hard so I told them this was two points gained, well done, this is a hard place to come and win."
