Visser, who qualifies for Scotland through residency midway through the Southern HemisphereTour and so won't be available for the Australia Test, has been Edinburgh's leading light in attack.
The 24-year-old has finished as the RaboDirect PRO12's leading tryscorer for the last three seasons and his 13 touchdowns this season helped see him crowned the league's players' player of the year.
That form has not gone unnoticed by Robinson and despite his Dutch ancestry Visser cannot wait to pull on a Scotland shirt for the first time.
He said: "I'm very honoured, having lived here for such a long time now I've got to know the country and the people very well and I feel very much part of the country.
"I feel really at home here and the people have been great. I would love to represent Scotland."
Visser is not the only new face in Robinson's squad with his Edinburgh teammate Tom Brown along with Glasgow trio Rob Harley, Tom Ryder and Ryan Grant in line to make their respective debuts should they be selected in the matches against Australia, Fiji and Samoa.
Brown has also been exposed to the highest level in club competition appearing frequently in the Heineken Cup as well as the RaboDirect PRO12 this season and he admits his progress has been startling.
"It was a pretty tense day yesterday wondering if the call might come and when it did it was pretty overwhelming but I'm really looking forward to it," he said.
"It's been pretty massive. Looking at where I was last year, I've come so far this year and being a part of the Edinburgh set-up has been a huge part of that development.
"My confidence has gone through the roof since last year and being involved in the (Heineken Cup) quarter and the semi-final, that was a huge step-up and I'm relishing the opportunity to go up another level."
While there is a fresh feel to a Scotland squad that lost all their matches in the Six Nations, coach Robinson made clear he expects his side to stop the rot.
"This is a tough tour for Scotland," he said. "We'll be playing against three attack-minded teams on their own turf.
"But it's an important opportunity to start the rebuilding process after a disappointing Six Nations.
"One quarter of the squad has yet to start an international but we've seen from the manner in which Edinburgh and Glasgow have finished the domestic season that there's confidence that we will be
looking to build on."
