Visser, 25, has finished top of the try charts in the Celtic League for the past three seasons and will be partnered on the other wing by former Glasgow Warriors back Max Evans.
The pair were drafted in by Robinson to replace Joe Ansbro and Sean Lamont who were unavailable for selection this weekend through a badly cut eye and a rib injury, respectively.
The rest of the starting XV is unchanged from their last match against Australia, which saw Edinburgh fly-half Greig Laidlaw hit a late penalty from in front of the posts to seal a 9-6 victory.
Robinson, who has delayed naming his replacements until Thursday, is confident the Dutch-born Visser can link up well with Evans in Lautoka and wants his team to create space for the new man to show his worth.
"He's been electric on the ball, so we want to get the ball in his hands early," said Robinson.
"He (Max Evans) has settled in really well with Castres and finished the season in really good form."
But Robinson knows that Scotland's game plan must start in the forwards, and insists that dominating the tight exchanges, as the Scots did against the Wallabies, is also essential against Fiji.
"I was really pleased with the way the forwards defended around the fringes and the way we set up a couple of the mauls and obviously the way we finished with our scrummaging," he added.
"That will be important again if we are to set the tone for us to play our way.
"If we get into a game of sevens, Fiji are the best in the world and we will lose - we have to play to our structure.
"We're here to win Test matches, so that's what we're focused on.
"It's a completely different challenge to Australia and we'll have to be at our very best. We enjoyed the win over Australia but that's in the past now."
