Henry is to continue with Scottish Rugby as Coach Development Manger and National U18 coach. He has been with the Edinburgh set-up since 1997. Blackadder will continue to play occasionally as well as coach the Edinburgh Rugby forwards.
Henry Edwards said: 'I will miss the day to day involvement with Edinburgh on a coaching front, but I am looking forward to the new challenges in coach education and working with the national under-18 squad. I believe I will take a lot from my Edinburgh experience to these areas which will benefit them. Having worked closely with Todd, I am sure he will continue to do a good job and give the players the benefit of his vast experience. Finally I would like to wish everyone at Edinburgh Rugby all the very best in the future.'
Todd Blackadder said: 'I am looking forward to this challenge. It is going to be hard to take over from a great man such as Henry. Personally I am sad that Henry is leaving and I'll be looking to take up the coaching where Henry has left off. I still enjoy playing but see the next step in my rugby career as coaching. I have agreed to help out until the end of this season. I am really delighted that I have been given this opportunity to work with what I believe is a great club here at Edinburgh.'
