Rising star pledges future to the Scarlets

Versatile Academy product Josh Turnbull has signed a three-year contract with the region. The 20-year-old, from Newcastle Emlyn, can play in any position in the back row and second row.

Standing at 1.93m tall and tipping the scales at 99kg, Turnball casts an imposing figure. He has already shone for Wales Under 20s this season and is sure to play a key role for Wales in the forthcoming IRB Junior World Championship.

"I'm delighted to have signed for the Scarlets," said Turnbull. "The new stadium is going up and there are plenty of exciting times ahead and I want to be part of them.

"I've been in the Academy for four years and slowly worked my way up through the system and I'm really looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead of me."

Turnbull has represented Wales at Under 16, Under 18 and Under 19 level as well as the U20s.
