The Ospreys today received confirmation that Jonathan Thomas will need to undergo surgery to repair an ongoing groin injury which will also rule him out of the Autumn International Series.
Ospreys Physio Chris Towers said: "Jonathan has been suffering from a gradually worsening groin injury which, up until now, hasn't stopped him playing. Having assessed his condition on Wednesday a decision was made to refer him to a specialist whoo has today identified the need for surgery. Jonathan will undergo an operation on Friday and is looking at a possible six week lay-off."
