Teams used to relish being paired with an Italian club in the Heineken Cup as a source of easy points but since their introduction into the RaboDirect PRO12 Treviso have emerged as a different beast.
They currently sit eighth in the RaboDirect PRO12 with six wins to their name but their form in the Heineken Cup is even more impressive with French giants Biarritz going down to a 30-26 defeat at the Stadio Comunale di Monigo where the Ospreys were lucky to escape with a 26-26 draw.
And while the Ospreys desperately need maximum points to keep alive their slim hopes of reaching a Heineken Cupquarter-final, Davies says that is far from a given against Treviso.
"Saracens may be top but nothing's sorted in this group yet, I'm sure Biarritz will be going for it against them, and then Treviso have already shown that they are no pushovers and can still have a say in the way things work out," said Davies.
"People still think that playing against Treviso is an automatic win but they've come on so much over the last few years. We were a little bit fortunate to get a draw out there while Biarritz didn't even manage that.
"It's going to be a tough game, it should be high tempo. If there's any game that fans should want to come and watch, to see a good game of rugby, it's this one as Treviso like to throw the ball around and we know that we've got to go out and get the win.
"Depending on how this week pans out, even if we know after the game that the quarter-finals are out of the question we know that we can still look to qualify for the Amlin so we've got that to go forthat as well. The main thing for us now is getting back on the horse and playing a bit of rugby, getting the feelgood factor back."
