And all of this in front of their biggest-ever home crowd as 8,852 spectators piled into Firhill to see the Warriors jump up into third in the table and extend their unbeaten run to a club record eight games.
But with a clash with the Scarlets fast approaching, as well as some key Heineken Cup fixtures, Lineen doesn't want his troops getting carried away.
"It's a good place to be at the beginning of the new year, but there is a long way to go," said Lineen.
"We look forward to training next week and Llanelli on Saturday in the league.
"And we've got the Heineken Cup on the horizon as well.
"With the strength of our squad, we have really good competition for places.
"That makes the coaches' job on the one hand easier, but on the other hand, harder."
