Indeed, ahead of the Six Nations opener between Scotland and England at Murrayfield, both countries have qualified the same amount of domestic teams for the Heineken Cup knock-out stages.
And as a result, Morrison is in confident mood.
"Certainly, Edinburgh winning their group in the Heineken Cup was great to watch and I'm sure those guys are on top of the world at the moment," he said.
"Although Glasgow didn't qualify we finished second in our group which was a fairly positive thing and we're looking forward to continuing to try and improve on our league position.
"There's a good feeling, we've not been together as a squad since the World Cup but we all went back and did a lot of hard work at our pro teams and had a good run of games, especially with Glasgow and Edinburgh doing well going into this."
