Since making his international debut in November 2010, when he scored two tries against South Africa, North has become a household name and helped Warren Gatland's side to their first World Cup semi-final since 1987.
And with this being only his second season in professional rugby, North admits he is yet to become accustomed to the weight of expectation at both club and international level.
"I know it is a cliche, but I am still learning my trade," said North. "I am looking to improve because there are not many chances at this level and it is something I have to work on.
"Life has been busy since the World Cup. I have enjoyed it and it has given me time to step back from the massive hype of the World Cup which I thoroughly enjoyed. But I have also enjoyed being back at the Scarlets with the boys and playing in this environment.
"I feel sometimes a lot of pressure because I have had a number of caps already and been to the World Cup, but I am still learning my trade.
"I am doing it quickly, but maybe not quickly enough for some people. I am not complaining because there can't be many 19-year-olds who will say playing rugby for a living is a hard way to live.
"It has its perks and bad points, which is the pressure on and off the pitch and the constant expectation, but I have to cope with that. I would like to say I have grown up, but I am still 19 and can be a bit childish!"
