North's star is on the rise after helping Wales to the 2012 Six Nations Grand Slam while racking up his 21st cap at the age of 19, the youngest player ever to do so for his country.
And though a host of his international colleagues including Gareth Jenkins and Luke Charteris are departing for French clubs, North thinks there is no rush for him to join them.
"I can't see myself going elsewhere right now," said North. "I'm very happy down at the Scarlets at the moment.
"It's been quite quiet so it's quite nice to have a bit less pressure and play rugby really.
"I'm getting game time on the pitch and at my age that's what you want, to get a bit more exposure and experience out there.
"I'm enjoying my rugby in Wales. I'm there for two years now, so it's happy days really."
Though no French clubs have come in for North yet there will surely be more interest if he keeps up his form for the Scarlets starting with their trip to Murrayfield on Friday night.
The region are still in the running for a RaboDirect PRO12 play-off place and the return of North can only be a boost for Nigel Davies ahead of the clash with Edinburgh.
But while he has vowed to stay at Parc y Scarlets for the meantime North didn't rule out the possibility of one day leaving.
"The trend is that if you're older you may go abroad trying to get the last couple of contracts," said North.
"But for me, at the ripe old age of 19, I don't think it's the right time to go to France really.
"Obviously, it's not something you can turn down forever. When you've got such a short career that is so physical you have to go not only where your heart feels but also where your mind thinks.
"The smart move would be to go to France and try and get the big earnings in early, so when it comes to the end of your career you're not trying to push another couple of years out.
"So hopefully I'll stay until I'm 30-odd and then if someone wants me then I might go then. But at the moment I'm happy where I am."
