Indeed the 35-year-old hasn't appeared for the Ospreys since January 21 but with a top-four finish looking a live possibility Williams' experience could prove vital in the play-offs.
And while quick to praise the progress of Dirksen and Walker, Humphreys admits he's not discounting bringing back Williams.
"Shane is available for selection this week," he said.
"It's obviously a big draw for the Dragons game and all that. But we see him as viable until the end of this season.
"He is a world-class player and we wouldn't discard him. He's huge for us going forward.
"Even though the likes of Hanno and Eli have been doing really well, Shane has been fantastic for this group off the field in training. He's ready to go and he may figure this week."
