A 13-13 draw against lowly Connacht was then followed last week with a more respectable stalemate against European champions and league leaders Leinster on Saturday, but Kellock wants to get back to winning ways.
While the lock has been away former Leicester Tigers second row Tom Ryder, man of the match against Leinster last weekend, has stepped in to the breach and Kellock has been impressed with his impact.
He told www.glasgowwarriors.org: "It's great to be back, I came back in to a great environment and the boys are in a good place.
"Tommy [Ryder]is doing really well, he's stepped in and done brilliantly while Richie Gray and I have been away and even when he has come off the bench he's done incredibly well.
"We've been unlucky in the last couple of games with the draws, they were games we could have won, but Leinster are probably the best team in the contact area, but we were very, very good in there on Saturday especially the back row area.
"That has been a real focus since we played Leinster in the Heineken Cup game where we got beaten up a little bit."
Turning his attention to the play-off clash with Ospreys, Kellock stressed his charges need to focus on their own game and not be intimidated by the Welsh region's physicality.
He added: "We're not going to underestimate the Ospreys, they are a fantastic team and very physical so we'll have to be at our best to beat them.
"We've got to focus on ourselves, we've got to do down there and play our own brand of rugby because they are very difficult to defend against."
