And Anscombe, who has led the Irish province to five consecutive league victories and to the top of the RaboDirect PRO12 table, claims Williams' fitness will be considered with the upcoming European clash against Castres Olympique on Friday now his priority.
"We will assess him over the weekend," said Anscombe. "We are not sure, but it could be a little popped rib and it is a case of how he comes through really at this stage but he certainly is flavour of the month."
Williams, who joined from Italian side Aironi in the summer, might be taking most of the plaudits after his man-of-the-match display and first-half try but Anscombe wasn't too impressed with his side's second-half display.
"We are happy with the win and it takes us to five from five," he added. "There will be very few teams who will go into Europe unbeaten, so we are pleased from that point of view.
"However, the second half was very disappointing. It was a combination of things, I thought they were negative in their tactics and supporting around the breakdown."
