And although it was tight, tries from Jonathan Edwards, Liam Williams and Ben Morgan saw them leave with a 26-23 victory, although they headed back to Wales without that bonus point.
However Davies insists all is not lost, far from it, with the all-important victory in hand and with two games left to propel themselves into the top four.
"It is definitely four points gained as to a point lost in not getting the bonus point," said Davies, whose side sit sixth in the RaboDirect PRO12 table, two points off fourth.
"Aironi is a very difficult place to come; they beat Munster here last time they played so the result was all important.
"Of course we would have loved to have gone on and got the bonus point, we worked hard for that.
"But we are still in the fight and that is the most important thing. We have two big games to come at home and everything to play for.
"They had a lot of support here and they are trying to fight off the field to get their license back and they did plenty of fighting on the field as well."
