This then set up a semi-final against Ulster, the Irish side having beaten Edinburgh twice already this season in the RaboDirect PRO12.
And although Denton realises he and his Edinburgh teammates face another tough fight, the fact that they already put European giants Toulouse to the sword gives the No.8 confidence that they can do it all over again and book a final spot.
"The Toulouse game was an incredible win, the best win I have had in my career and it was brilliant to get something like that in front of a home crowd," he said.
"The crowd really helped us in that game. You can really feel it, especially coming to the end of the game when the score was close at the time. You could feel the crowd helping us to push forward.
"We are a real close-knit squad and when you play and train every day with your mates it means a great deal to go as far as we have in a competition like this.
"I think it showed in the Toulouse game what it meant to us and I am sure it will show again in the Ulster game.
"Ulster are one of the best teams in Europe right now and there is no doubt that they are a very strong team with some big names.
"So there is no question how tough it is going to be but having said that Toulouse are one of if not the best clubs in the world in terms of history, depth and playing ability.
"So we are definitely up for the challenge and it is about us turning up on the day and using home advantage as best we can."
