A Munster victory would all but guarantee their place in the top four while Scarlets could draw level with the reigning champions with a bonus-point win.
The Scarlets though have a woeful record against Munster, losing their last 14 encounters including three matches alone this season.
But Turnbull refused to be daunted by that sequence of results with the Scarlets boasting their own formidable record at Parc y Scarlets this season.
"We are still right in it," he said. "If we can get two wins from our final two games then I am sure things will look a lot more promising. It's a big one this weekend and we are looking to get a win and five points to put us on a level footing with them (Munster).
"The Irish regions are going very well at the moment and Munster have been at the top of the tree for the last couple of years.
"We came so close to beating them in both Heineken Cup games, we have to match what we produced in those games and go one better. Most of their pack are experienced internationals so we know it's a big test for our boys.
"They have a lot of players that have been around for so long. They are big game players and there are leaders right throughout their team.
"I'm sure we can come away with a win this time. The crowd can be a massive help for us. We have had some good numbers at Parc y Scarlets this season, the supporters have been fantastic for us."
