With only four British and Irish Cup games under his belt, the inside centre relished being thrown into the lions' den at the RDS and is eager for more opportunities in the first team.
He said: "It was a very proud moment, you dream of that stuff when you're growing up. I was very happy to get the opportunity and it went OK so I was delighted with myself.
"I was happy enough with how the game went, I wasn't really sure what to expect before, I was happy with how it went and delighted with the result obviously.
"I was delighted just to get the chance, I haven't really thought too much into anything else. I was delighted to get that first chance and I'm glad it went OK. I'm happy enough with that for the moment anyway."
Next up for the European champions in the RaboDirect PRO12 is Scarlets on Friday and O'Shea believes it is the perfect opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the table.
He added: "It's a real opportunity, hopefully it goes well at the weekend and we get the win.
"There always is a great atmosphere at the RDS, it's a great stadium and you can really feel the crowd there so hopefully there is another great turnout."
