Kiwi No.8 Rush almost joined Ulster last season but he was adamant that couldn't have been further from his mind as Cardiff moved up to sixth in the RaboDirect PRO12 table.
"It was brilliant to play [at the Arms Park], the atmosphere was fantastic and it is great to be back," he said.
"There were no personal vendettas [against Ulster], it was just great for this team to have a win because we needed it.
"We knew that Ulster are a strong team, they've shown that in the European Cup and in the RaboDirect PRO12 this season.
"We're just concentrating on getting out onto the pitch and playing 80 minutes and as far as I'm concerned, I'm signed up for another year so I'll be here next season."
