But Weir wasn't the only Warrior to shine on international duty as he was joined on the scoresheet by teammate Stuart Hogg, who got the first try of the game with a wonderful 60-metre effort.
The boot of Weir made the score 13-0 at half-time but their RaboDirect PRO12 rivals from Edinburgh were not to be outdone, particular with Michael Bradley in charge.
And it was his centre Matt Scott who put the seal on the victory with the final try of the game, adding to Rory Lawson's earlier effort, to leave Bradley to toast a job well done.
"The boys were determined to beat England and they went about their business very well," he said.
"We had six Glasgow Warriors in the pack and that gave us a big advantage.
"It was a good day at the office and it was nice to come here so close to the home of the late Bill McLaren. I am sure that he would have been proud of us."
