That was their sixth straight home victory in the RaboDirect PRO12 but they did it the hard way after going 12-0 down inside the first ten minutes.
But despite their relative inexperience, Davies' young side showed their character to respond with Liam Daives, Deacon Manu, Josh Turnbull and Liam Williams crossing in their bonus-point victory.
Scarlets have the opportunity to maintain their momentum against Connacht who despite their lowly position, Davies is expecting a stiff challenge fro,
Davies said: "That was a huge game for us and securing five points was crucial and we pleased to have got this first home game under our belt as planned. We now get set for Connacht next Friday - another vital game for us in the league and we know how tough they will be.
"They are one of the teams you don't necessarily want to play right now as they have a lot more continuity and consistency in their player selection without the disruption of losing groups of international players to the Six Nations.
"However, we are home again next week and this victory will help boost our mentality and momentum in our preparations next week.
"It was vital we got a first try soon after, as it swung the momentum back and as soon as we had that score, we grew again and built our game from there.
"It's also backed up by a strong performance out in Leinster too - where the boys know they took them to task and matched them throughout."
