Stephen Jones' late penalty proved crucial for Scarlets who earned the bonus point they needed to secure a LV= Cup semi-final away to Northampton Saints where they will hope for a repeat of their 28-23 win in the Heineken Cup.
And Davies wants his team to respond and face up to the difficulty of combining their PRO12 commitments with the quarter-finals of the Amlin Challenge Cup and now the LV=Cup semis.
Davies said: "We are delighted to get in a semi-final of one of our competitions. Our target this season was to reach play-offs and we have two ahead of us now.
"We will work very hard to put aspects of our game right - we have a very intense spell of rugby ahead of us now.
"It will be a challenge for us and where it sits in the rugby calendar, it will be a big test of a club's squad strength.
"These games will take place during international windows and it will be a judge of how much strength-in-depth sides have."
Despite the excitement of reaching the semis Davies has his eyes back set on the RaboDirect PRO12 league where his team sit one place off the play-offs in fifth and travel to Glasgow on Feb 9.
"To get into two play-offs this season is something we are pleased with," he added.
"But right now we need to get back into league action as we face three weeks of big RaboDirect PRO12 fixtures ahead of us which are crucial to us if we want to compete for another play-off place."
