"Playing at Rodney Parade gives us a massive boost", said Sidoli.
"It is definitely something we thrive off. I think some teams enjoy it as much as others are intimidated.
"They are very vocal, are up on their feet and it certainly gives us extra confidence."
The Dragons will be hoping to make amends for last week's 43-21 loss at the hands of Cardiff Blues, their second defeat of the season so far, while the Scarlets travel to Rodney Parade having recorded two consecutive bonus-point victories after their disappointing opening-day loss at Benetton Treviso.
But despite their losses at the Blues and at Connacht, Sidoli is confident the Dragons can get a positive result if they play with confidence.
"Home games are obviously very important", added Sidoli.
"We struggled against the Scarlets last year so it would be nice to get a performance against them on Friday night. With just four regions, any time you play a Welsh team it is a big derby.
"Both sides have struggled with injuries so it will test the squads, especially being early in the season.
"But I think our pack and back-line are very good - especially at home.
"We have a very passionate side and play for each other. We need to replicate that in away games but at home we're a match for anybody.
"We have to be confident. Against the Scarlets last year at Rodney Parade we gave the game away.
"They have a good running game and never give up. If we take an early lead again this year we can't give up. We have to play to the final whistle.
"Our games against them are always high-intensity, they are good quality and go right down to the wire. It will be definitely a big test for us."
