Luke went to university in Bath but never once watched the English side play at The Rec.
When he made his first start in the second row for Wales against Romania in November 2004, he partnered a player at the opposite end of the international scale. Luke packed down alongside veteran Gareth Llewellyn who was winning the 91st of his 92 caps.
