Wales finish with a flourish

Warren Gatland's men produced an impressive display to beat Italy 33-10 at the Millennium Stadium for just their second win of the tournament.

Ospreys stars James Hook and Shane Williams claimed the Welsh tries, with Hook grabbing a brace of scores in a superb individual performance.

Wales led just 12-3 at half-time but Hook crossed twice in quick succession early in the second period, with Williams adding a third try to take his personal tally to 51 in 73 appearances for Wales.

Scarlets fly-half Stephen Jones was also back to his best, responding in the perfect manner to calls for his demotion to the bench following the Round 4 defeat in Ireland.

Jones ended the game with a faultless kicking record thanks to three conversions and four first-half penalties but it was his overall control of the game and his ability to create space for his outside backs that really stood out in Cardiff.

Saturday's win has eased external pressure on Wales coach Warren Gatland who had himself been criticized after his side failed to come close to matching their Grand Slam winning form of his first season in charge back in 2008.

The confidence boosting victory is also good news for all four Magners League teams from Wales, with the international players returning to the Blues, Dragons, Ospreys and Scarlets on a high ahead of the run-in to the end-of-the-season.
