Edinburgh will then make their Murrayfield seasonal bow six days later when they host London Irish. That match, on Friday, 27 August, will kick-off at 7.30pm.
Irish last travelled north in 2003, when Edinburgh defeated them 32-25 at Meadowbank in the Heineken Cup. Edinburgh assistant coach Tom Smith welcomed the fixtures as "perfect preparation" for the new season.
"Both Bath and London Irish play an attractive brand of rugby, and the games will be good to watch as well as a real test for our players," said the former Scotland and British & Irish Lions prop..
