Jenkins could face a spell on the sidelines

The loose-head prop has been plagued by a persistent calf problem in recent months and he was ruled out of Wales' clashes with South Africa and Fiji.

But he has been passed fit to take on the All Blacks at the Millennium Stadium tomorrow after undergoing intensive treatment this week.

And Jenkins acknowledges the calf problem, which is linked to a toe complaint, needs to be resolved once and for all with a World Cup looming on the horizon.

Due to the combination of injuries and international commitments the Blues powerhouse has been limited to 13 of the Blues last 25 Magners League games over the last two seasons. And the latest news could lead to another spell on the sidelines.

"There's been a few meetings and conversations going on this week about what needs to be done with the World Cup in mind," said Jenkins.

"We will see over the next couple of weeks what happens there. Surgery has been talked about as an option. It's definitely something I want sorted long term.

"We need to get together between the Blues and the top people here with Wales and see what the best way forward is."
