"The Dragons get the best out of me and I am thankful they're playing me week in week out," said Brew.
"I put my selection down to playing well for them.
"I think I'm more mature in my decision making and I have worked on my weaknesses, so I suppose I am a slightly better player than when I won my first cap. They get the best out of me and enjoy using me."
Brew will win his fourth cap at the Millennium Stadium tomorrow evening but has found it tough in recent years with limited game time at the Ospreys and the Blues putting a stutter in his career.
"After leaving the Dragons to go back to the Ospreys I had limited game time and it was the same at the Blues," he added.
"So I went back to the Dragons and they took my back with open arms. So it's taken about 1 and half years to get regular rugby again and get back to where I was.
"I should always have gone back to the Dragons but you make mistakes."
Wales will be looking for revenge against Fiji as the last time the sides met the Pacific Islanders dumped the Welsh side out of the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
Brew though believes the memories of 2007 have to be forgotten and the squad must focus on the game in hand.
"We have to forget about 2007. They've got some of the best attacking players in the world who are great with the ball in hand anywhere on the park. It will be a big test of our defence.
"I'm just going to try and do what I do every week with the Dragons. It's unfortunate for Shane to be injured but it's time for people like myself to step up.
"Now I have to try and match George North's two tries on his debut last week."
