In scenes reminiscent to those which saw his brother Thom carried off in last season's RBS 6 Nations clash with Wales in Cardiff, Evans was taken off the field on a stretcher at Murrayfield after taking a heavy blow to his shoulder.
The game was called off early to facilitate Evans' removal from the field, but he was soon back on his feet.
Scotland team doctor James Robson was kept busy after the game tending to no fewer than seven walking wounded, but was delighted to pronounce Evans' problem no more than a 'stinger' injury.
Evans' Warriors team mates Richie Gray (dead leg) and John Barclay (ankle strain) were also on the treatment table after the bruising encounter with the world's top ranked team.
