Ospreys 'gunning for the title' and home semi

The 2007 champions face the Dragons at the Liberty Stadium this Friday knowing that a bonus-point win would guarantee a top-two finish at the end of the regular season.

And despite having already secured a Play-Off place, Ospreys coach Jonathan Humphreys admits that there is a lot on the line this weekend.

"The situation is that we have a lot to play for," said Humphreys.

"We have worked hard to put ourselves in contention for a home semi-final. Now it is about seeing the job through and making sure we achieve our target.

"We've been able to secure a place in the play-offs, now we want to make sure that we retain an interest right up to the final weekend. If we are going to do that, we know exactly what we have to do over the next three games."

The Dragons will arrive in Swansea without as many as 13 injured players but Humphreys insists his side won't be taking the Gwent region lightly, especially with so much at stake.

The Ospreys were on the wrong end of a 28-20 scoreline when the two sides met at Rodney Parade at the end of March and Humphreys expects another big test this time around, although he admits that a home semi rather than revenge will be the major motivating factor.

"It isn't a question of owing the Dragons one. A home play-off place is far more important - that is what is at stake for us and will be reward in itself." added Humphreys.

"This is a different game altogether, one that means a lot to us because we still have silverware to play for and want to give ourselves the best possible chance of winning it.

"We are not focused on the Dragons' injuries. We have our own agenda and it involves playing well and getting a good result because we are gunning for the title.

"We've had two weeks off so everybody is raring to go again. What we are looking for is a professional performance."
