Bowe wins again ahead of Grand Final challenge

Bowe is currently preparing for a mouth-watering clash with Leinster at the RDS a week on Saturday but that hasn't stopped the Ireland international from picking up yet another individual award.

Fresh from being voted the best player of the year by his fellow professionals in his native Ireland, Bowe has received the same honour from his Welsh colleagues.

The 26-year-old former Ulster star was yesterday named Players' Player of the Year by the Welsh Rugby Players' Association.

He was given the accolade at a ceremony in Cardiff just a week after winning the Irish equivalent in Dublin, having also been voted Six Nations Player of the Year less than two months ago.

A standout performer on the 2009 Lions tour of South Africa in which he played all three Tests against the Springboks, Bowe has cemented his reputation as one of the world's leading wings this term.

With seven Magners League tries to his name this season, Bowe has increased his lead at the top of the overall scoring charts for the history of the tournament.

A total of 38 tries in league competition for the Ospreys and Ulster puts him seven clear of Shane Horgan - a likely Grand Final opponent.

Bowe beat Dragons wing Aled Brew and Blues duo, Bradley Davies and Xavier Rush to the evening's top honour, while Dragons fly-half Jason Tovey picked up the Players' Young Player of the Season award ahead of Blues lock Davies and Scarlets hooker Ken Owens.

The Dragons were named Team of the Season for a superb Magners League campaign in which they came close to securing a Play-Off spot, having been in serious contention right up until the end of Round 17.

Bowe's fellow Osprey Shane Williams was awarded Try of the Season for his stunning team effort in Wales' last-gasp triumph over Scotland in the Six Nations.
