Brew chooses Magners over Guinness

The 23-year-old wing was one of four players to resign for the Dragons this week, ending speculation that he could be about to move to England.

And Brew, who is in his second spell at Rodney Parade having also spent time with fellow Magners League outfits the Ospreys and the Blues, has no doubt that he is in the right place to further his career.

"I had some interest from other clubs and I explored it for a little bit to see what was out there and a couple of clubs came back to me," Brew told the Western Mail.

"But in the end I decided to stay because I have really enjoyed my time with the Dragons. I said from day one I wanted to stay.

"I just feel like I am playing good rugby with them. I've developed as a player here and the team has a bright future.

"I've become good friends with some of the players and the coaching staff and I just think we are going somewhere as a region on and off the field."

The Dragons are currently just three points adrift of the play-off places having won five of their 10 Magners League games so far this season.

And Brew has played a significant role in the side's improvement having started all 10 matches, scoring four tries and playing all bar 21 of the 800 minutes to date.

Unsurprisingly, the three-times capped Welsh international is delighted to be playing regular rugby in an environment and a league in which he is continuing to improve as a player.

"I feel I've played the best rugby of my career during my two spells here," added Brew.

"The Dragons have just given me a chance to play regular rugby and that's what I want. They believe in me and they give me a chance every week.

"Some weeks maybe I don't play well, but they believe in me enough to play me the week after and that gives me the confidence to go out there and express myself.

"I weighed it all up and I just felt this was the best place to be at the moment. I just want to be part of what's going to happen here in the next two years."
