Regarding other aspects of the venue, spectator safety at Murrayfield is paramount and Edinburgh have received delivery of road salt in order to ensure the stadium is accessible for supporters.
Originally supporters were scheduled to watch the game from the East Stand, but this has now changed and reverted back to the West Stand because of safety issues and limited grit supplies.
The decision has been made to concentrate the road salt supplies in one area of the stadium to ensure the West Stand is accessible for everybody attending the fixture.
As a result of the recent weather, there will be no car parking available at Murrayfield apart from for disabled supporters (email info@edinburghrugby.org for more details). Edinburgh Rugby Club apologises to its supporters for any inconvenience this causes.
So supporters are encouraged to use public transport (visit www.lothianbuses.co.uk or www.nationalrail.co.uk) to get to and from Murrayfield while there will be extensive on-street parking in the nearby area.
Edinburgh chief executive Nic Cartwright praised the fact that Murrayfield has so far managed to avoid falling foul of the freezing winter weather and highlighted the stadium's world-class facilities.
Cartwright said: "With so many of this round's Magners League matches falling victim to the weather, we are proud of the fact that, barring any huge problems, our home match against Cardiff will go ahead.
"It shows that Murrayfield is a world-class stadium and means that our team's schedule will not be further disrupted by the snow. I would encourage fans to arrive at Murrayfield earlier than usual and to use public transport to and from the stadium.
"Unfortunately on this rare occasion, we cannot offer parking at the stadium, but trust that our supporters understand it is a special situation."
With the recent spate of postponements in the domestic leagues, supporters and players of local clubs are being encouraged to come and watch two of the Magners League's leading teams battle it out at the home of Scottish Rugby.
Tickets are available from the Scottish Rugby Ticket Centre (situated off Roseburn Street, call 0131 346 5180) and can be purchased on the day of the game - from midday onwards.
Supporters are reminded that the Roseburn Crescent Turnstiles are closed and the reasoning behind this and the closure of the East Stand and car parks is due to limited grit supplies. Any change to the match taking place will be publicized via the club website at www.edinburghrugby.org.
