30-year-old Marco has returned to his native Italy to play for Magners League new boys Aironi this season after spells in France and Egland.
He made his full international debut against Namibia in June 2001 aged just 20. At the age of 21, Bortolami was named Italy's youngest ever captain.
Marco played for is hometown club Padova before moving to French side Narbonne. His performances on the international stage saw Gloucester sign the Italian captain in 2006 and he stayed at Kingsholm for four years before moving back to Italy.
